Helios School is seeking a Middle School Humanities Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year.
The humanities program integrates literature, writing, history, research, and discussion-based learning. The successful candidate will enjoy working with intellectually curious middle school students and will bring enthusiasm for interdisciplinary, project-based learning.
This position offers the opportunity to collaborate closely with colleagues to design engaging curriculum that connects historical study, literature, and current global issues.
Teach middle school humanities, including literature, writing, and history
Design engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences and interdisciplinary projects
Foster discussion, critical thinking, and analytical writing skills
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum design and interdisciplinary units
Support students’ social-emotional development alongside their academic growth
Communicate effectively with families about student learning and progress
Participate in faculty collaboration, professional development, and school community events
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in humanities, education, or a related field preferred
Experience teaching middle school students
Strong background in literature, writing instruction, and/or history
Interest in progressive or constructivist educational approaches
Commitment to inclusive teaching practices and culturally responsive pedagogy
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Enthusiasm for working with gifted and highly curious learners
