Preschool Floater / Swing Teacher
Ventana School is a Reggio-inspired preschool through 5th grade in Los Altos, CA. We are seeking a floater/swing teacher for our preschool program. We have a regular program (9:00-3:00 pm) and an extended day program (3:00-5:30 pm) for children ages 2 through 5 years. We also offer early care from 8 to 9 am. We support children's play, exploration, inquiry, and creative/critical thinking. We promote experiences that build a child's relationship with the natural world and materials. Ventana School is a place where learning is a joint venture between children and teachers and where learning happens in the context of childhood.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Ability to pass a background check
- Experience working with children in some capacity
- Courses or degrees in ECE. 12 semester units or in the process of earning the units.
- Fully qualified under California State Community Care Licensing Regulations.
Summary of Duties
The Preschool Swing/Floater Teacher supports all the classrooms on a rotating basis. This person also provides breaks for classroom teachers as needed and is our first go-to Substitute Teacher when a classroom teacher is unable to be at work. All Ventana teachers attend to the social-emotional needs of a diverse preschool population and collaborate and communicate effectively with colleagues, students, parents, and administrators. This job requires the person to work cooperatively with the teachers and admin as needed in a variety of roles.
Hours:
M-Th 8 am - 4:30 pm, Friday 7:30 am to 4:00 pm with a 30-minute unpaid lunch break.
